FT Aggregates, is an Alberta-based business passionate about working with clients to meet their individual aggregate needs. Although our focus is building specially designed engineered products for commercial aggregates we also welcome contractors and homeowners at our landscape yard. At FT Aggregates you will find paving stones, patios, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, landscaping kits, waterfalls, ponds, water treatments, pumps, filters, and more. Manufactured in Alberta, our aggregates are trucked in bulk to our Camrose Yard. We produce a large portion of our bulk aggregates in Alberta; what we can’t produce is sourced locally.

Reporting to the pit manager, the Equipment Operator is a key part of the production team and is responsible for operating equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Equipment may include skid steer, excavator, loaders, graders, rock trucks and other pieces of equipment. The focus of this job is on delivering high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential and will require patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. Job knowledge and competency are built through structured step-by-step training.
The ideal candidate for the Equipment Operator is someone who can apply their specific knowledge of the job, believes in accountability in completing assigned work and likes to work in a methodical way. While work is completed independently, the individual should respect and know how to work towards a common goal as part of a team.
The Key Accountability Areas
The role will operate skid steer, excavator, loaders, graders, rock trucks equipment and perform general tasks associated with production needs. It will operate gasoline and diesel-powered units and assist in the loading of trucks. Safety Management:
The role will ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed and that they properly use required personal protective equipment at all times. The role will perform tasks in a manner that will not jeopardize own/others safety.Quality and Service Excellence:
The role will model a commitment to quality work and service, with a focus on operational excellence. The role will understand how operational efficiency contributes to the overall customer experience and will take pride in the cleanliness of equipment and workspaces.Compliance & Communication:
The role will ensure communication, respect, and compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and values as well as applicable external legislation and regulations. It will report any issues arising through the course of regular activities and communicate clearly, consistently and accurately.

The Working Conditions
- o Primarily physical work involving:
- o Agility including the ability to regularly twist and turn
- o Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs
- o Working in both cold and hot temperatures, season dependent (outdoor role)
- o Camrose area is the primary work location.
- o Availability to work a variable schedule, including some weekends and evenings in winter months for snow events. Available to work overtime as required.

o 8 years experience as an equipment operator, with a strong preference towards excavator
and loader experience.
- o Valid driver’s license, Air brake endorsement (Z) and defensive driving course preferred.
- o Strong attitude towards equipment cleanliness and general equipment maintenance.
